LEWISTON — The Maine Music Society announced its schedule of choral concerts for its 26th year. Performances are at The Dolard & Priscilla Gendron Franco Center at 46 Cedar St.
 
Nov. 5: Battle of the Blends will feature six a cappella groups from around New England with a variety of music, ranging from classics to modern jazz and pop. 
 
Dec. 11-12: The Maine Music Society Chorale will present A Heritage Christmas, singing favorite U.S. holiday songs such as “White Christmas,” along with a few different twists with songs such as “The Twelve Days After Christmas.”
 
March 25-26: The Maine Music Society Chorale and Orchestra will perform the elegant “Mass in B Minor” by Johann Sebastian Bach. Composed in the 18th century, it is widely hailed as one of the greatest compositions of all time.
 
May 20-21: Songs of Carole King and James Taylor will include selections such as “How Sweet It Is To Be Loved By You” and “I Feel the Earth Move.” King and Taylor were Kennedy Center Honors recipients in 2015 and 2016, respectively.
