FARMINGTON — Author and award-winning newspaper columnist George Smith will give a book-signing and presentation at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, at Devaney Doak & Garrett Booksellers Inc., 193 Broadway.
Smith is the author of “A Life Lived Outdoors,” a collection of essays about home, camp, family, faith, travel, hunting, fishing and other outdoor activities.
Smith’s book “Take It From ME: An Insider’s Guide to Maine’s Hidden Gems” was published in May 2016. This book is an essential guide book to Maine for both locals and those “from away.” Culled from hundreds of columns, this book offers dual perspectives on favorite establishments, as well as suggestions for nearby attractions and side trips.
