1951 – 2016

PORT ORANGE, Fla. — Hayden Thomas Gallant Jr., 65, of Rumford, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, Sept. 18, in Port Orange, Fla.

Hayden, affectionately known as “Tom” growing up, was born in Rumford on Feb. 27, 1951, to the late Hayden Thomas Gallant Sr. and Alva (Cunningham) Gallant.

Hayden was a graduate of Stephens High School in Rumford and a longtime employee of the former Andover Wood Products in Andover. He was a member of the Rumford Falls Aerie No. 1248, F.O.E., and was employed there for many years until he retired to the warmer climate in Florida.

He is loved and dearly missed by his two sisters, Janet Magoon and husband, David, of Peru and Diane Hanshew and husband, Mike, of Clarksville, Ark.; two brothers, Randy Gallant and wife, Becky, of Rumford and Stephen Gallant and companion, Linda Wilt, of Rumford; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Hayden is preceded in death by two brothers, “infant baby” Gallant and Gary “Gig” Gallant; and one sister, Claudia “Cookie” Davis.
