1947 – 2016

RUMFORD — Mr. William R. Frost, 69, died Wednesday, Oct. 19, at Rumford Hospital. He was a resident of Rowe Street in Dixfield.

Born in Dixfield on June 29, 1947, he was a son of William and Iola (Ellis) Frost. He attended Dixfield schools and served in the U.S. Army from 1964 to 1965. William worked for the town of Dixfield as a truck driver for over 20 years and also for Tracker Transportation and enjoyed the guys he drove around.

He enjoyed going to the casino, watching the Syfy and History channels on TV and also enjoyed socializing with the engineers on the railroad.

Survivors include his former wife, Rose Frost of Dixfield; five daughters, Amy Schmersal and husband, Eric, of Rumford, Tina Thomas and husband, Ray, of Lewiston, Bobbi Jo Frost of Dixfield, Lynn Sawtelle and companion, Wayne Vahay, of Alberta, Canada and Missi Bradbury and husband, Gunnar, of Dixfield; a son, Erik Frost of Dixfield; grandchildren: Gretchen, Megan and Summer Bradbury of Dixfield, Salena Sawtelle of Bangor, Montana Sawtelle of Lewiston, Michael Gould, Dakota Meserve and McKenzie Gurley of Lewiston, Chrystle Frost of Mexico, Natasha Frost of Rumford and Michael Frost of Dixfield; great-grandchildren, Colby Frost, Desmond Bartley Jr., Danika Bartley and Jayden Bartley all of Mexico, Lillyanna Frost and Damien Frost of Rumford, Willow Arsenault–Meserve of Rumford and Sophie Tahlil of Lewiston; sisters, Sharon Lee and husband, Steven, of Weld, and Linda Hinckley of Sanford; a brother, Morton Frost and his wife, Sandy, of Mexico; sisters-in-law, Janet Pingree of Wales and Carolyn Frost of Dixfield.

He was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Dexter, Terry and Timmy Frost; and sisters, Sandra Martin and Priscilla Lee.
