AUBURN — Opening night for Community Little Theatre’s production of “Chicago” is set for 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4.
It’s Chicago in the Roaring ’20s, and Roxie Hart murders a faithless lover and convinces her hapless husband Amos to take the rap . . . until he finds out he’s been duped and turns on Roxie. Convicted and sent to death row, Roxie and Velma Kelly, another “merry murderess,” vie for the spotlight and the headlines, ultimately joining forces in search of the American dream: fame, fortune and acquittal.
This sharp-edged satire features choreography by Bob Fosse. Musical numbers include “All that Jazz,” “Cell Block Tango,” “Me and My Baby” and “Razzle Dazzle.”
Production dates are 7:30 p.m. Nov. 4, 5, 10, 11 and 12, and 2 p.m. Nov. 6 and 13. All performances will be held at the Great Falls Performing Arts Center on Academy Street.
