The Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office said Craig Ward, 41, of Winthrop was driving his 2004 silver Jeep Grand Cherokee north on Route 202 shortly before 4:30 a.m. when he crossed the centerline and went off the road, hitting several trees.
The Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash. Police said speed and alcohol did not appear to be factors.
Police said Ward was not wearing a seat belt.
