LEWISTON — The Lewiston Auburn Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce offers the next seminar in its Mine Your Business series: “Negotiations, the Big Deals and the Everyday.”
It will be held from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15, at the chamber’s conference room, 415 Lisbon St.
The seminar is sponsored by the Association for Consulting Expertise and will be led by Jim Milliken of Jim Milliken Consulting.
The course is targeted toward people who need to convince others and who have others trying to convince them: to listen, to buy, to participate. In short, everybody. It will provide participants personal negotiating strategies, approaches and tactics that are easy to understand and practice.
Milliken has been working with people for 30 years to identify and overcome the barriers and issues that get in the way of personal productivity, harmonious collaboration and effective innovation. The specific skills most prominently include those of time, risk and process management; listening, speaking and conversation management; team leadership and conflict management. He works one on one, in the workplace and in classroom settings in real-world contexts.
