SACO — A man’s body was found in the rubble of a home explosion about 2 a.m. Tuesday, according to the Maine State Fire Marshal’s Office.

Officials say a man was found in the Pheasant Road home after the explosion. The victim is believed to be in his 70s.

Saco Police, several fire departments and an investigator with the Maine State Fire Marshal’s Office were on the scene.

“Were just starting our investigation. Right now the priority was to get the victim out of the scene and remove them and were just starting our investigation now, we have no information on a cause at this point and it’ll be a while before we determine that,” Sgt. Joel Davis, Maine State Fire Marshals Office, said.

The body will be taken to the State Medical Examiner’s Officer for an autopsy.

There is no word yet on a cause.
