1940 – 2016

RANDOLPH, Vt. — Sherman J. Arnold, 76, of Sabattus died Wednesday, Nov. 2, at Gifford Medical Center in Randolph, Vt.

He was born June 14, 1940, the son of Nobert and Yvette (Gagnon) Arnold. Sherman attended Lewiston elementary schools and graduated from Stevens High School in Claremont, N.H. He continued his education graduating from the University of New Hampshire with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry.

Following his education, he worked for W.T. Grant in Brunswick, until starting his own business, Sherm’s Flooring in Lewiston, until retiring in 2006.

He was married to Jacqueline Gauthier Dec. 13, 2002, in Lewiston. Sherm was a member of the Elks Lodge in Lewiston and in Florida. He was an avid golfer.

He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Arnold of Sabattus; a daughter, Lisa Jacobs and husband, Tom of Braintree, Vt.; three step-children; three grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; 10 step-great-grandchildren; and one step-great-great-grandson.
