MONMOUTH — The Theater at Monmouth will start the holiday season off with its comedic extravaganza, “Every Christmas Story Ever Told…(and then some!)”

The play begins as another version of “A Christmas Carol” and takes “a wrong turn in Albuquerque” on the way to a beloved holiday classic smackdown between “A Christmas Carol” and “It’s a Wonderful Life.”

Santa Claus, Rudolph (or in this case, Gustav), the Grinch, and just about every other seasonal character makes an appearance in this fast, furious and slightly irreverent take on holiday classics and traditions.

The three intrepid actors will attempt a performance of every Christmas story ever told — a sprinkling of Christmas traditions from around the world, seasonal icons from ancient times to contemporary pop culture, along with nearly every carol ever sung.

The cast features James Noel Hoban, Ian Kramer and Grace Bauer. Dawn McAndrews is the director; set and lights are by Jim Alexander; costume design, Elizabeth Rocha; and sound design, Elizabeth Nelson.

This production is best suited for ages 13 and older.
