1943 – 2016

AUGUSTA — Sandra Baird Nason, of Augusta, died peacefully at her home Tuesday, Nov. 8.

Born Nov. 19, 1943, to Ralph and Lucile Baird, Sandra grew up in Auburn before moving to Mechanic Falls and graduating from Mechanic Falls High School in 1962. After graduating from Westbrook Junior College in 1964, she worked as a dental hygienist.

Sandra raised her four children in Saco where she worked for many years as a waitress at the Kerrymen Pub. In 1980, she married Wayne Nason. They made a home in Saco before moving to Belgrade and finally Augusta where they just celebrated their 36th wedding anniversary.

Sandra is survived by her husband, Wayne; her children and their spouses, Susan and Jake Ward, Elizabeth “Buffy” and Bob Bullard, Hugh and Stacey Connor, Kristan and Greg Gould; 12 grandchildren; her sister, Judith Roach; her brothers, Michael Baird and Rose Aikman, Stewart James and Terri Baird; brothers-in-law, Donald and Connie Nason, Michael and Barbara Nason; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, Ralph and Lucile Baird; mother- and father-in-law, Donald and Mary Nason; sister-in-law, Colleen Baird; and brother-in-law, Eric Roach.
