1920 – 2016
BRIDGTON — Suzie Mae Baker, 96, of Sebago, died Saturday, Nov. 5, at Bridgton Hospital.
She was born May 19, 1920, to Arthur and Blanche Theriault. She lived in Maine most of her life. She met and married Ernest Baker and together they raised four sons.
She lived a very active life. She was a great cook and was once the owner of Sun and Sand Restaurant in Waterboro. She was the co-founder of the Maine Country Music Association. She also owned and operated the Wagon Wheel Ranch dance club in Steep Falls and had some special guests, including Conway Twitty, Dick Curless and others.
She loved to crochet and made many beautiful things for her family. She enjoyed playing beano.
She is survived by her two sons, Jimmy Baker and his wife, Claire, of Lewiston, Donald Baker of Sebago; two daughters-in-law, Gail Baker and Elsie; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Ernest; a sister, Alice; and two sons, Sonny and Wayne Baker.
