LEWISTON — The Lewiston Auburn Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce is teaming up, once again, for its Stuff The Bus annual toy and gift drive.
As always, the goal is to donate as many gifts as there are members to brighten the holidays for local families in need. Every year, the community has come through to help the Chamber exceed that goal.
All donations received will be distributed by representatives of Androscoggin County Head Start, Advocates for Children, Tri-County Mental Health Services and Safe Voices and will stay within this community, assisting only local families.
Community leaders can help by volunteering their business or organization to be a “bus stop” and then set about collecting gifts. The Chamber will list the participating businesses and organizations so that citizens can visit and donate. Businesses should contact Deborah Carroll at [email protected] or call 207-783-2249 to sign up.
New toys and clothing (appropriate for youths age 0-18) will be accepted until Thursday, Dec. 15. Donations may be brought to the Chamber, 415 Lisbon St., Lewiston and participating “bus stops,” to be listed on the Chamber website www.LAMetroChamber.com. Gifts may also be brought to the LA Metro Chamber Breakfast on Thursday, Dec. 8, at the Ramada, or to Business After Hours at Lost Valley on Thursday, Dec. 15.
