LISBON — The Lisbon Greyhounds entered the playoffs as the No. 4 seed, but came on strong down the stretch to win the 2016 CMFL PeeWee division championship.

The Greyhounds beat the No. 1 seed, Oak Hill, in the semifinals, 16-8, scoring to win the game with only 12 seconds left on the clock.

On Saturday, Oct. 29, they then defeated No. 2 Tri-Town in the championship game, 20–6, for their third straight title. Lisbon drove down the field and scored on a Kaiden LaValley touchdown. LaValley attempted the two point conversion and was stopped. The Tri-Town Knights followed with their own touchdown, but also were stopped on the 2-point conversion, and the game remained tied until the fourth quarter, when Deshawn Walker broke up the middle for a long touchdown run.

Lisbon stopped its opponent and regained possession in the fourth quarter. Then, Ethan Hayes broke around the end for another long touchdown run, followed up by a driving 2-point conversion by Jayden Camp, giving Lisbon PeeWees the 20-6 victory.
