BETHEL — The Mahoosuc Community Band is having its Christmas concert Sunday, Dec. 4, at 4 p.m. at the West Parish Congregational Church in Bethel.

The concert is filled with traditional favorites and newer melodies. We have some new songs this Christmas season: “Spoon River by Percy Grainger, “Jing, Jing, Jingle “arranged by Chris Sharp, “Do You Hear What I Hear?,” and “It Came Upon a Midnight Clear arranged by Larry Kerchner.

We will also play familiar favorites of “C’est Noel “by Andre Jutras, “A Copeland Tribute” by Copeland and arranged by Grundman, “Tocatta for Band” by Frank Erickson, “All I Want for Christmas is You” arranged by Larry Kerchner, “I’ll be Home for Christmas” arranged by James Swearingen and “Sleigh Ride.”

The community band practices Monday nights at the Congregational Church basement in Bethel. After the holiday concert, the group takes a break and restarts rehearsals Jan. 2. New members are always welcome.
