1924 – 2016

FARMINGTON — Jeanne Estella Brann peacefully passed away of natural causes at the Pinewood Terrace in Farmington at the age of 92 on Monday, Nov. 28.

Jeanne was born Aug. 23, 1924, in Dixfield to Alma and Harry Coolidge. Jeanne attended Dixfield schools and graduated from Wilton Academy. She married Lauriston E. Brann on Jan. 16, 1943, in East Wilton. She worked for Farmington Shoe, Hodgkins’ Cottages and the Wayside Grill.

Jeanne and Laurie lived in East Wilton before moving to Wilton. Jeanne enjoyed picking apples with Lauriston — she picked the bottoms while he picked the tops. They were quite the team. She made the best apple pie and grapenut pudding for the holidays.

Jeanne also enjoyed hooking up the camper and traveling with Laurie. They traveled throughout New England and Acadia National Park was a personal favorite.

She is survived by her two sons, Terry Brann and wife, Sherrill, of Wilton and Bruce Brann and his wife, Gayle, of Brunswick; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Lauriston; son, Barry; daughter, Sandra; brothers, Lester, Chester, John, Kenneth and Richard; and sisters, Dorothy, Mary and Beatrice. Jeanne developed an extra special bond with her daughter, Sandy, after Lauriston passed. They enjoyed each other’s company almost every day of the week.

The family would like to thank the staff of Pinewood Terrace and Beacon Hospice, especially Megan and Lynn for their special care. Messages of condolence may be sent to: www.finleyfuneralhome.com.
