A CBS 13 crew was on Route 26 in Gray seconds before the truck caught fire. It happened in front of the Maine Warden Service office in Gray.

Someone from the Maine Warden Service used a fire extinguisher to try and put it out, but by then the fuel lines had caught fire.

The truck was directly below some power lines and some feared the fire might bring those lines down, but it did not.

Volunteer firefighters from Gray arrived about 15 minutes after the fire started.

Within five minutes, they had the fire under control.

No injuries were reported, but it did close the road while firefighters put out the fire, backing up traffic on Route 26.

Troopers then opened one lane of traffic.

The fire appeared to have started in the engine but the cause was not apparent.
