Lewiston Winter Farmers Market 

LEWISTON — The Lewiston Winter Farmers Market is held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. every other Sunday through February 2017 at the YWCA, 130 East Ave. 

The next market will be Dec. 4. It will be a holiday market, and it shoppers may make and take home swag for a donation. 

Future dates include Dec. 18, Jan. 1, Jan. 15, Jan. 29, Feb. 12 and Feb. 26.

New exercise class for cancer victims

NORWAY — The Cancer Resource Center of Western Maine announces a new exercise class, Banding Together to Restore.

The classes will be held from 11 a.m. to noon Mondays, Dec. 5, 12 and 19, at Richard Bader Physical Therapy, 176 Main St. 

This free class is for cancer survivors, caregivers and those in treatment.

Library memories sought for 90th

WEST PARIS — The Friends of the West Paris Public Library are planning a celebration to honor the library’s 90th anniversary.

The Arthur L. Mann Memorial Library, the original “little castle,” was dedicated the fall of 1926. Its constant service to the community will be honored at the Light Up the Castle Party at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9.

A special part of the event will be sharing library memories. The Friends are seeking contributions to a memory book, including memories from children. These memories can be historical or current, funny or touching.

BRYANT POND — The Oxford Hills Ukulele group, with Jim Burke on the keyboard, will lead A Christmas Sing-along at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 8, at the Whitman Memorial Library.

The program is free and open to the public. Holiday refreshments will be served. 

Star Teachings of TEA

SUMNER — A community gathering of Star Teachings of TEA dedicated to practicing kindness will take place Thursday, Dec. 8, at Two Spirits Center, 1122 Main St.

The gathering is in circle format, where everyone is invited to share their stories, wisdom and questions in the space of openness and receiving.

Christmas party planned Dec. 9

RUMFORD — A Christmas party will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9, at the American Legion Hall, Congress Street.

Music will be provided by Noel Palmer.

Tickets are available at Rumford Senior Center from 9 to 11 a.m. Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Cost per ticket is $13.

Oxford Hills AARP to meet

PARIS — The holiday meeting of the Oxford Hills Chapter of AARP will be held Monday, Dec. 12, at the First Congregational Church on East Main Street.

Lunch will be served at noon with chicken pie on the menu. Reservations are required by Friday, Dec. 9. Those attending are asked to bring a wrapped gift with a $5 limit for the Christmas celebration.

There will be no meeting in January, however the program committee will meet and any ideas for future programs will be welcomed.

The winter weather cancellation policy is to meet the following day, on Tuesday, during December, February and March. Meetings will be canceled if school is canceled or announced on radio station 92.7.

JAY — The AMVETS Post 33 Christmas Party will be held Friday, Dec. 9.

Dirigo class seeks craft vendors

DIXFIELD — Dirigo High School Class of 2018 will host a holiday craft fair from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, at the Tuscan Opera House on Main Street. 

Along with crafters, there will be baked goods and wreaths for sale and wrapping and raffles.

Proceeds will benefit the class.

Vendor space is available for $15, and tables are provided.
