VIENNA — The Dental Assisting National Board, the national certification board for dental assistants, has elected Katharine Noble, CDA, CRFDA, HMC (FMF), United States Navy, as the vice chairwoman of its board of directors. Noble is a respected dental assistant who lives in Vienna. 

Noble has been a dental assistant for 19 years. She works at Evergreen Dental Associates in Augusta and is a dental assisting educator with Turbyne and Associates and Helping Hands Trade School in Lewiston. She is also a hospital corpsman, chief petty officer, in the U.S. Navy Reserve and the senior enlisted leader for Expeditionary Medical Facility Bethesda in Bangor, supporting more than 160 active-duty and reserve sailors’ medical and dental needs.

As an active member of the dental community, Noble has served as president of the New Jersey Dental Assistants’ Association and the Monmouth/Ocean County Dental Assistant Society, New Jersey. She is a member of the American Dental Assistants Association and the Navy Enlisted Reserve Association.

She has won numerous awards for her service, including Sailor of the Year, U.S. Navy; the American Dental Assistants Association Award of Excellence; six Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals; and two National Defense Service Medals.
