1954 – 2016
MONMOUTH — William J. Rines Sr., 62, a resident of Monmouth, died Saturday, Dec. 10, at home in Monmouth.
He was born Oct. 16, 1954, in Lewiston, the son of Walter Rines and Bernadine Brayley. William was educated in Greene and Monmouth schools. On July 4, 1972, he married Kathleen Coulombe of Sabattus.
William worked as head of maintenance at Pure-Stat Engineered Technologies in Lewiston. He enjoyed fishing and working on small engines, be it go-carts, ATVs or motorcycles, which he also loved to ride. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, especially taking them to the Vestry in Monmouth once a week, to Hobbit Land or going for ice cream.
He is survived by two sons, William Rines Jr. and his companion, Kim Dupuis, of Sabattus and Shane M. Rines of Monmouth; his daughter, Jelina Marie Rines and her companion, Kevin Gagnon, of Greene; 10 grandchildren, Briana Rines, Dylan Rines, Vallerie Moore, Cierra Moore, Jaydynrose Gagnon, Brenna Moore, Rannon Henry, Chloe Rines, Shane Rines Jr. and Spencer Rines; his brother, Timothy Rines of Hebron; his four sisters, Priscilla Maxium and her husband, Ronald, of Greene, Fern Davis and her husband, James, of Sabattus, Roberta Peters and her husband, Paul, of Mt. Vernon and June Bubier of Greene; and several nieces and nephews that he was very fond of.
He was predeceased by his wife, Kathleen A. Rines, in 2008.
