Updated forecast (2:15 p.m. Friday)
Yesterday’s snow brought 1 – 2 ft of snow to many towns along with strong winds overnight into today.
The gusty winds will continue today with wind gusts up to 40 mph possible.
The number of power outages could increase due to winds gusts and the heavy snow weighing down branches and trees.
The storm will continue to move well into Eastern Canada today, however we will have some lingering snow showers or light freezing rain mixed with partly sunny skies.
Tonight temperatures will drop into the single digits up north and teens elsewhere.
Clouds will increase tomorrow afternoon ahead of our next system which will bring light snow showers and a possible mix along the coast in the evening and night.
This will be very minor, only bringing about 1- 3 inches of snow and mostly in the mountains.
More sunshine arrives for New Year’s Day and highs in the upper 30s.
