LIVERMORE — A Livermore Falls man died early New Year’s morning after a two-car crash on Route 4, according to a news release from Stephen McCausland, spokesman for the Maine Department of Public Safety.

An autopsy is scheduled to determine if 41-year-old Shawn Berry died from injuries in the crash or from a medical condition.

Berry was a passenger with driver Brady Romano, 37, of Livermore Falls. Berry became sick, prompting Romano to pull his car to the side of the road, according to McCausland. The car was struck from behind by one driven by Sarah Clark, 30, of Farmington.

Berry was in the car at the time of the crash. Clark and a passerby performed CPR on him, but he died at the scene, according to McCausland.

Trooper Elgin Physic said Route 4 was closed for several hours after the 1:20 a.m. accident Sunday.

The District Attorney’s Office will review the crash report once it is completed.
