DENVER, Colo. —

, 47, formerly of Peru, died at his residence in Denver, Colo., on Tuesday, Dec. 27.

Robert was born in Rumford on Nov. 16, 1969, the son of Reginald and Carol Ann (Greene) Wing. In 1988 Rob graduated from SAD 21 in Dixfield, later enlisting in the United States Air Force, entering active duty that same year.

Rob served as an intelligence analyst at Rhein Main Air Force Base, Germany, Langley Air Force Base, Virginia, Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana, Osan Air Force Base, Republic of Korea, Royal Air Force Mildenhall Air Base, United Kingdom, Buckley Air Force Base, Colorado, and Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado. He performed several tours of duty in support of Department of Defense military operations and conflicts including Operation Desert Shield, Operation Southern Watch, Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. He retired as an Air Force senior intelligence analyst after 21 years of service to his country on Dec. 31, 2009.

He earned his Bachelor of Science while on active duty. Following retirement from the Air Force, Robert spent several tours of duty with a Special Operations Company as an intelligence analyst serving in Afghanistan.

Robert enjoyed the company of family and friends and was never happier than being with them at Mile High Stadium in Denver rooting for the Broncos. At the same time, he had a special place in his heart for his mother’s favorite team, the Patriots. Robert enjoyed the hours spent at home on Worthley Pond.

Survivors include his father, Reginald Wing and his wife, Patricia, of Peru; brothers, Reginald Wing Jr. of Las Vegas, Nev., Randall Wing of Dixfield, and Ronald Wing and wife, Christine Nagy, of The Dalles, Ore.; stepbrothers, Andrew Irish and wife, Kathy, of Peru, Jeffrey Irish and wife, Rhonda, of Jay, and James Irish and wife, Terri, of Carthage; and many nieces and nephews.
