RANGELEY — A 14-year-old girl was injured when her snowmobile hit rocks along the shoreline of Rangeley Lake in City Cove on Saturday night, Maine Warden Service spokesman Cpl. John MacDonald said.

The girl struck her hip and was treated and released from Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington, MacDonald said. She was operating alone and there were no violations detected.

No other information was available.

Wardens issued about 45 summonses during the Snodeo this past weekend, MacDonald said. The charges included operating snowmobiles on public ways, operating under the influence, modified (loud) exhausts and operating without registration.

Town Manager Tim Pellerin said the Snodeo was well attended and businesses saw more attendance this year.
