RANGELEY — Police charged a local man Tuesday in a break-in at a residence at 125 Carry Road in Oquossoc while the owners were out of state.

Rangeley police received a burglary complaint at 10:18 a.m. Saturday after residents reported that their alarm company saw a man enter their property and steal alcohol, Police Chief Russell French said Tuesday.

Officer Jacob Richards identified the man in the alarm company’s video as being Kevin Bliss, 61, of Oquossoc, French said.

Bliss was arrested Tuesday morning on charges of burglary, criminal trespass and theft and taken to the Franklin County Detention Center in Farmington.

Bliss was released from the jail Tuesday afternoon on $500 cash bail. He is scheduled to appear at a Farmington court on Feb. 28.

Anyone in the area who has experienced a similar incident is encouraged to contact the Rangeley Police Department at 207-864-3579.
