THOMASTON — Maine authorities have identified the decomposed body found off U.S. Route 1 in Thomaston last week as that of a 41-year-old transient.

Police and the state medical examiner’s office say the body of Joshua Robichaud was found Jan. 25 in the woods behind a Dunkin’ Donuts parking lot. He was last seen leaving the Knox County Jail last May after serving some time on outstanding warrants. He was arrested in May 2016 in Lewiston.

Police said Robichaud’s death is not considered suspicious, but the medical examiner has to complete additional testing before arriving at a cause of death.
