Both of Maine’s senators have spoken out against the executive order blocking people from seven predominantly Muslim nations from entering the United States. But where is Rep. Bruce Poliquin? Supposedly, he represents the Lewiston Somali community, along with the rest of the Second District, but so far he has failed to step up and oppose the action, which divides Somali families and does nothing to make people safer.

If anything, the order is a jihadi recruiter’s dream opportunity. But Poliquin remains silent.

Does Poliquin consider his loyalty to a president who is nominally of his party (though condemned by many in it) more important than his obligation to represent the people of the Second District?
