Valentine’s dance for Hope Assoc.

RUMFORD — Hope Association will host a Valentine’s dance featuring Joe “The Music Man” Sirois from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10, at 85 Lincoln Ave.

The dance will be open to the public.

The cost of the program will be by donation, and refreshments will be available. Proceeds will benefit the Hope Association. 

Contradance Feb. 11 in Farmington

FARMINGTON — A Contradance will be held from 8 to 10:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, at the Farmington Grange, 124 Bridge St.

This will be a regular Contra with the Racket Factory playing and Cynthia and Kenlyn calling. All dances will be taught. Beginners are welcome; partners are not necessary.

Saturday Story Time in Norway

NORWAY — Norway Memorial Library will host a Saturday Story Time for families who are unable to make it to the weekday events. 

Saturday Story Time will be held at 10:30 a.m. on the second Saturday of each month beginning Feb. 11, in the children’s room. The start date will coincide with Take Your Child to the Library Day.

Honey Bee Club to meet

PARIS — Oxford Hills Honey Bee Club will meet at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, at the Oxford County Extension Center, 9 Olson Road.

The speaker will be Lincoln Sennett, Commercial Beekeeper, and Owner of Swan’s Honey. The subject matter will be varroa mite control using oxalic acid.

The public is welcome to attend.

Cookbook discussion tasting soups

NORWAY — Norway Memorial Library will a cookbook discussion with recipes from “New England Soup Factory Cookbook” by Marjorie Druker. 

The discussion will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16.

The library will provide bread to go along with the soups. Attendees must bring a dish to participate and may bring containers to take home samples.

The cookbook will be available at the information desk to browse.

If there is inclement weather and the library is closed, this program will be cancelled.
