FARMINGTON — Julia Colby and Erin Eastman scored in double figures to lead the Oxford Hills girls’ basketball team to a 60-29 victory over Mt. Blue on Saturday.
Colby, a freshman, put up 17 points to lead all scorers. Eastman finished with 11 points, which included three 3-pointers in the third quarter. Erin Morton added nine points for the Vikings (15-1), who remain atop the Class AA North standings.
Lexi Mittelstadt led the Cougars (5-11) with eight points.
Women’s basketball
Bates 82, Trinity 73
LEWISTON — Nina Davenport led a 3-point barrage that lifted the Bates College women’s basketball team to an 82-73 win over Trinity College on Saturday.
Davenport made 6 of 11 treys and scored a game-high 32 points for the Bobcats. The six 3-pointers ties Davenport’s personal record and is one short of the Bates record.
Overall, the Bobcats (11-9, 2-6 NESCAC) drained 14 of 23 from beyond the arc.
Bates senior Bernadette Connors finished with 14 points. Lyse Henshaw added 13 points and Carly Christofi had 11.
Peace Kabari led Trinity (11-9, 2-6) with 18 points.
Men’s basketball
Trinity 83, Bates 66
HARTFORD, Conn. — Trinity College led wire-to-wire to garner an 83-66 NESCAC men’s basketball win over Bates College on Saturday.
Senior Marcus Delpeche led the Bobcats (15-8, 4-5 NESCAC) with 15 points and a season-high three blocks. Malcom Delpeche finished with 10 points and eight rebounds.
Trinity’s (14-8, 5-3) Ed Ogundeko put up a game-high 23 points, making 10 of 18 shots from the field.
Junior hockey
L/A 5, Northeast 1
LEWISTON — Dylan Vrees had a pair of goals and an assist to lead the L/A Fighting Spirit to a 5-1 victory over the Northeast Generals on Saturday night at the Androscoggin Bank Colise.
Two local kids also scored for the Fighting Spirit, as Caleb Labrie, who played for St. Dom’s, notched his ninth of the season, and former Red Eddie Sederick Simons potted his second of the year after joining the team Friday.
Labrie also had an assist.
Defenseman Walker Hamilton had a goal and assist.
Derric Trudeau scored for Northeast.
Aaron Callan made 24 saves for the victory. Leo Lake made 36 saves for the Generals.
