LEWISTON — The Lewiston Winter Farmers Market is held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. every other Sunday through February 2017 at the YWCA, 130 East Ave. 

The next market will be Feb. 12, and the last market is Feb. 26.

Drumming group making a beat 

LEWISTON — The Hand Drumming Group plays from 1 to 3 p.m. on the second Sunday of the month, at Trinity Church, 247 Bates St. The group will play next on Feb. 12.

All levels and styles of drummers can play, and they can bring their own instrument or try one of the club’s drums. The cost to play is by donation. 

Jam session in Auburn 

AUBURN — The Park Avenue Pickers will holds a monthly jam session at 6:15 p.m. on the second Tuesday of the month at the Auburn United Methodist Church, 439 Park Ave.

The next session will be Feb. 13.

The jam session is open to all musicians.

Park Avenue Pickers’ jam session

AUBURN — The Park Avenue Pickers have scheduled an open jam session for all interested musicians at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14, at the Auburn United Methodist Church, 439 Park Ave.

Those jamming may play any music type, including bluegrass, gospel and blues and they should bring instruments, voices, lyrics and music. This is open to all levels of acoustic musicians from beginners to advanced.

Dempsey Challenge paint night fundraiser

AUBURN — Central Maine Community College’s Team Mustang will hold a Paint Nite fundraiser at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 20, at 1250 Turner St.

Experience is not neccessary, and supplies and refreshments will be provided. This is an all-ages event. 

Tickets are $45 each and must be purchased by Thursday, April 6. Proceeds will support the team’s Dempsey Challenge goal.

Bridge club lists results

LEWISTON — The Lewiston Bridge Club winners on Jan. 23 were: first in A, Norma and Rick Verrill; second, Rosemarie Goodwin and Paul Sherman; third and second in B, Cindy Kirchherr and Jim Krainin; and, fourth and fifth tie, Dick Allen and Pete Cummings with Nancy Lindgren and Les Buzzell.

Winners on Jan. 30 were: first, Paul Clement and Roger Labbe; and, second and third tie, Rosemarie Goodwin and Paul Sherman with Nancy Lindgren and Les Buzzell.

Winners on Jan. 31 were: first, Paul Sherman and Mike True; second, Marta Clements and Jeanine Kivus; and third, Rosemarie Goodwin and Claire Lyons.

Games are played at 9 a.m. Mondays and Tuesdays in the Seniors’ Room at the Lewiston Armory, 65 Central Ave. A partner is guaranteed, and all bridge players are welcome.
