LEEDS — Yvonne M. Bilodeau, 88, of Leeds passed away peacefully Friday, Feb. 3, at her home with her loving daughter at her side.

At the age of 13, Yvonne entered the convent in Canada and eventually her faith brought her to the United States, where she served the Lord in Plattsburgh, New York; Newport, Vermont and Alfred for a total of 22 years.

During that time, she worked at Bates Mill as a weaver as well as at other mills and factories until her retirement. Yvonne loved volunteering for the Grange, the food pantry and the Leeds Fire Department, helping to serve at many events and functions. She loved to read books, work in her gardens and was especially passionate about researching new recipes to try. She even went by the nickname of “The Cookie Lady” for her continuous generosity in making and delivering cookies to all of her friends, family and neighbors.

She is survived by her daughter, Doris Parenteau and her husband, Randy, of Leeds; her siblings, Beatrice Juneau, Lucienne Chabot and her husband, Gerard, Lucien Larochelle, Lilianne Carrier and her husband, Robert, Sylvio Larochelle and his wife, Therese, and Real Larochelle and his wife, Madeleine, all of Quebec, Canada.
