AUBURN — L. Zita Bolduc, of Lewiston passed away peacefully at the age of 85, the evening of Friday, Feb. 3, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice after a long illness, surrounded by her family.
She was born in Grand Falls, New Brunswick, Canada, on Nov. 27, 1931, and moved to Augusta when she was 13 years old with parents, Emile J. and Bertha (Albert) Dube and her three brothers. She graduated from Cony High School, Augusta, in 1951.
After graduation, she worked for the telephone company as a telephone operator. She married Paul E. Bolduc on June 11, 1955. She was a stay-at-home mom until 1975 when she returned to work as a telephone operator for Verizon until her retirement.
Zita was a member of the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul and belonged to the Ladies of St. Anne and the Pioneers. She enjoyed volunteering at the PTA’s and at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center. She also enjoyed playing cards, doing puzzles, reading and sewing. But most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her grand and great-grandchildren, both at home and at the camp in Poland.
Zita is survived by her children: daughter, Susan Z. (Bolduc) Bourgoin and her husband, Roger, of Greene; daughter, Diane R. (Bolduc) Avery and her husband, Thomas, of Lewiston; and son, Gilles R. Bolduc and his wife, Que-Chi, of East Bridgewater, Mass.; seven grandchildren, Brian Bourgoin and his wife, Stacey, of Lewiston, Nicholas Bourgoin of Greene, James Avery and his wife, Meghan, of Lewiston, Heather (Avery) Langlais and husband, Nicholas, of Lewiston, Katie Avery of Lewiston, Paul and Gabrielle Bolduc of East Bridgewater, Mass.; five great-grandchildren, Bailey Bourgoin, Maverick and Dilynne Avery, Easton and Maddox Langlais; a sister-in-law, Antoinette Desjardins and husband, Robert, of Lewiston; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 46 years, Paul E. Bolduc; a son, Paul (15 months old); a daughter, Louise (ten days); three brothers and their wives, Romeo and Juliette Dube, Leo and Della Dube, and Lawrence and Madeline Dube; and a sister-in-law, Lucille Bolduc.
