Softball clinics for grades 5-8 will be held Sundays starting Feb. 12 and running through March 19.

The clinics will take place at the Lewiston Middle School gymnasium (75 Central Ave.). The times for grades 5 and 6 is 10:30 a.m. to noon each Sunday, and the times for grades 7 and 8 are noon to 1:30 p.m.

Players will rotate through sessions with coaches to work on fundamentals of hitting, fielding, throwing and game basics. The coaches are eighth-grade coach Christopher Nichols, eighth-grade assistant Ryan Cormier and high school coaches Mike Child and Meagan Marcoux.

Players must wear sneakers — cleats are not permitted — and should bring their own gloves and any other equipment, and a water bottle. If players do not have their own equipment, there will be a limited amount on-hand.

The cost for the clinics is $20 per player. Each additional sibling is $10. There are limited scholarships available.

Players must have a permission slip, proof of private insurance and payment. Registration is the day of the first clinic, 20 minutes before the start time.
