LISBON — A family was displaced by a house fire at 70 Lisbon St. on Monday afternoon.

Fire Chief Sean Galipeau said none of the occupants or their pets were injured when flames erupted in a room on the second floor.

The cause “looks to be combustibles stored too close to a heater on the second floor,” he said. Damage to the room and its contents was estimated at $40,000.

The call came in at 12:50 p.m. and the fire was under control within 30 minutes, he said.

The American Red Cross was called in to help the family.
