AUGUSTA — The Concerts at Jewett Series will feature Choro Louco at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 5, at Jewett Hall Auditorium, 46 University Drive.
Based in Portland, Choro Louco is dedicated to the century-old tradition of Brazilian choro music. The ensemble is known for beautiful melodies, complex harmonies and syncopated rhythms, combining elements of European folk and classical, ragtime, jazz, Latin and African music.
The series is sponsored by the University of Maine at Augusta College of Arts and Sciences and UMA Senior College.
Tickets are $10 for adults, students $5, and children ages 12 and younger are free. Tickets are available at Pat’s Pizza in Augusta, Dave’s Appliance in Winthrop and at the door.
