BOOTHBAY HARBOR — Kyle Ames’ hot start boosted Boothbay to an early lead, and the Seahawks held on to beat Telstar 76-50 in a boys’ basketball Class C South preliminary game Thursday.
Ames scored 11 points in the opening quarter, after which Boothbay held a 22-10 advantage. Ames finished with 13 points. Carter Babcock and Eli Gudroe led the Seahawks (12-7) with 15 points each, and Jacob Leonard contributed 14.
Telstar’s Jarrett Bean drained four 3-pointers and scored a game-high 20 points in the loss. Tanner Wheeler added 15 points for the Rebels, who finish the season 7-12.
Boothbay, the sixth seed in C South, advances to face No. 3 Madison in the quarterfinals on Monday at the Augusta Civic Center.

Edward Little 21, Leavitt 21
AUBURN — Senior Brandon Paradis lead the Red Eddies (2-2) with 12 points in a 49-21 unified basketball victory over Leavitt. Senior Chet Barnard added 10 and junior George Kampstra chipped in seven points.
Mattie Ouellette scored seven points to lead Leavitt (0-3), while Nate Peterson had four points.
