AUBURN — Mystery for Hire is bringing its mystery show fun back to the L-A metro area at the Hilton Garden Inn with a performance of “Mystery at My Family Reunion” on Friday, Feb. 24.
“We are partnering with the Hilton Garden to bring mystery themed dinner shows back to the L-A area,” said Dan Marois, of Poland, who with his wife, Denise, own and operate Mystery for Hire. “It has been over a year since we performed in L-A, and we are looking forward to launching our mystery shows there once again.”
Mystery for Hire first performed shows in Auburn at the No Tomatoes Restaurant in 1995, Marois said. They recently celebrated their 20th year anniversary having performed for audiences totaling more than 40,000. It is the longest-running, year-round professional mystery troupe in Maine.
A mystery show performance appeals to a wide group of people, Marois said. “If you like comic interactive fun, the show is a treat. It also appeals to people who like to dine out, party a bit, and who enjoy theater.”
The ticket price of $40 per person includes the mystery show, tax, buffet and gratuity. A cash bar is available at the restaurant.
“Some members of our cast have performed together for almost 20 years. They know how to inspire each other in a performance and how to make the audience have exceptional fun,” Marois said.
Marois notes that the Auburn show will feature Mystery for Hire favorites, Brian Files of Gardner, Julie Poulin and Amanda Kinsey of Monmouth, Bob LeBlanc of Newburyport, Massachusetts and Steve Corning from the Oxford Hills area.
Doors open for the mystery show at 6 p.m. with the show starting at 7 p.m.. Reservations can be made at Eventbrite.com or from a link at mysteryforhire.com
