AUBURN — William Hendricks Jr., 88, of Lewiston passed away at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice on Monday, Feb. 13.

He was born Oct. 8, 1928, in Owosso, Mich., a son of the late William Hendricks Sr. and Lena (White) Hendricks. He grew up in the Lewiston area and was a graduate of Lewiston High School, Class of 1946. He attended Maine Central Institute, Bates College and the Newark College of Engineering. He married Leona Freda (Davis) Hendricks on Sept. 29, 1956, and they raised four daughters together. They recently celebrated their 60th anniversary.

William was a member of the National Guard in New Jersey and in Maine. He was also the owner of the Corner Market on Lake Street in Auburn and was employed at Northern Utilities for 33 years. He was a former member of the 12 Hour Club, the United Baptist Church and is currently a member of the Unity Bible Church in Lewiston.

He and his wife were seasonal campers at Beaver Brook campground for 36 years. He loved fishing on Androscoggin Lake where he caught an 8 and a half pound bass, of which he was very proud of.

He is survived by his wife, Leona; his daughters, Debra Bellemare and husband, Richard, Donna Alexander and husband, Scott, Diana Tucker and husband, Lance, Dayle Boucher and partner, Conrad Martel; grandchildren, Ryan and Erin Bellemare, Carrie and Derek Leclerc, Tracie and Timothy MacLeod, Laurie Alexander, Lance Andrew and Emily Joy Tucker, Kyle and Stephanie Bradbury, Emily Tucker, Sara Bradbury, Sarah Tucker, Jayme Boucher and partner, Eric Lepine; great-grandchildren, Kyrah, Veda, Cohwen, Broden, Ellie, Blake, Lucy, Oliver and Tinsley; and his sister, Shirley Revello; and many nieces and nephews and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
