LEWISTON — The Maine Jewish Film Festival presents a free, family film program at Lewiston’s Public Theater at 2 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 23 featuring the family movie “An American Tail.” This movie is designed for families with children at least 4 years of age. In this animated classic, a young Russian mouse named Fievel emigrates to America, gets separated from his family and must find them, learning some valuable survival lessons along the way.  Families will laugh at Fievel’s adventures and be inspired by his triumphs.

Though there is no admission, tickets are required.  Tickets are available from The Public Theatre at www.thepublictheatre.org or by calling 782-3200.  The Public Theater is located at 31 Maple St. n Lewiston.  Children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult. 

Since 1998, the Maine Jewish Film Festival has screened over 375 films and brought more than 125 guest artists from across the U.S. and around the world to Maine. The 2017 Maine Jewish Film Festival will be held March 18 through March 25.  FMI: Go to www.mjff.org.
