BETHEL — To Your Health of Western Mountains Senior College will present “Ask the Pharmacist” from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Thursday, March 9, at the Bethel Congregational Church, 32 Church St.

The snow date will be March 23.

This program is in response to many requests for information related to pharmacy issues.

Two area pharmacists, Scott Fraser, RPh, and J. Retief Orffer, RPh, will speak on the importance of communication between caregivers and the pharmacist.

“Pharmacists, along with other health care providers are on the same team, to help the patient,” Fraser said.

He and Orffer will discuss how to interact with the pharmacists and how to use pharmacists and other health care providers to answer questions. They will also cover a basic awareness of probiotics, prebiotics, vitamins and supplements; interactions of medications and how they interact with prescribed medications; the importance of discussing usage with the physician and other matters of interest. They will hold an extended question-and-answer period.

This program is sponsored as a community service by To Your Health of WMSC with the collaboration of Bethel Family Health Center and School Administrative District 44 Continuing Education.

The public is invited, and admission is free. Light refreshments will be available.
