AUBURN — The Woman’s Literary Union members will hold a “friend raising” at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 26, to learn more about the Foss mansion and how to become a member of the WLU.

Information on current programming and upcoming events will be presented, including the upcoming Fairy Godmother (prom gown giveaway) project. Refreshments will be served.

Membership is open to women and men.

Organized in 1892, the Woman’s Literary Union is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to further the intellectual, cultural and educational advancement of its members and the community, and preserve the nationally registered Foss Mansion at 19 Elm St.

Built between 1914-1917 by Horatio Foss, a Lewiston shoe manufacturer, the beautifully appointed Colonial Revival structure includes many fine examples of craftsmanship and interesting elements.
