LEWISTON — Albert S. “Blinky” Greenwood, 83, of Minot died early Saturday evening, Feb. 18, at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston.

He was born March 11, 1933, in Minot, a son of Montford and Gertrude (Alexander) Greenwood. He attended Mechanic Falls schools and 20 years after leaving school, earned his diploma.

On June 11, 1955, he married Barbara Cantelo in Rumford. Blinky worked in the construction field his entire life running heavy equipment and cranes, first for Callahan Bros. and later for Cote Crane & Rigging in Auburn.

He enjoyed woodworking, vegetable gardening, feeding deer and birds, puttering and lending a hand to friends and neighbors. Seldom would you find him without a baggie of his homegrown catnip in his shirt pocket.

He is survived by his daughter, Allisa Greenwood of Minot; nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife, Barbara, on Sept. 7, 2016; siblings, Eleanor Jewell, William and Robert Greenwood.

Blinky’s daughter, Allisa, wishes to thank the employees of United Ambulance and CMMC for their efforts in helping her dad.
