LEWISTON — Eva A. Cottle, 68, a resident of Jay, passed away early Thursday morning, March 2, at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, following a long illness.

She was born July 9, 1948, in Skowhegan. She is the daughter of Lucien A. Plourde and Carolyn A. (Pooler) Plourde. She was a 1967 graduate of Jay High School. On Aug. 10, 1974, she married Richard Cottle, and they made their home in Jay. She was a member of Hillside Sports Club in Jay. Eva enjoyed get-togethers, the annual Hillside Sports Club party, and especially family gatherings, sharing time with her husband, children, granddaughter and siblings. She was the former secretary of the Spruce Mountain Ski Club. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her husband, Richard Cottle; her daughter, Cari Mitchell and her husband, Mark; her granddaughter, Amelia, all of Jay; siblings, William Plourde and his wife, Leonie, of Las Vegas, Nev., Patrick Plourde and his wife, Kathy, of Forest, Va., Theresa Plourde of Las Vegas, Nev., and Joe Plourde and his wife, Melody, of Jay; sister-in-law, Kim Cook of Jay; many nieces and nephews and many cousins.

She was predeceased by her parents, Carolyn and Lucien Plourde; son, Cain Cottle; mother-in-law, Patricia Cottle; brother, Tom Plourde Sr.; brother-in-law, Michael Cottle; and her nephew, Matthew Roy.
