Over 130 kids braved the cold weather to fish with the ice-fishing trap and bait that was provided free to children by Kittery Trading Post. “With this weather, we did pretty good to get this many kids out,” said Park Manager Adam McKay. The Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry stocked brook trout a few days before the derby to give kids a better chance at catching a fish.

The Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry raffle off prizes to over 130 kids that participated in The Range Pond State Park/Sebago Rotary Club Kids Ice Fishing Derby in Poland on Saturday. Grayson Landry, 6, of Sabattus won the grand prize, a portable ice shack.
