LEWISTON — The Maine Music Society has announced that it welcomed Sandy MacDonald to its board of directors.

McDonald is a project manager for Mechanics Savings Bank, where she has worked for almost seven years. She has held a variety of positions throughout her 35-year banking career.

McDonald was born and raised in New York where she was involved in music all through school. She played the violin and the piano until she came to Maine to go to college.

In addition to music, she has always been interested in education. She spent three years as the parent representative on the Gray-New Gloucester Finance Committee before spending seven years on the Gray-New Gloucester school board.

She and her husband, Mike, live on Little Sebago Lake in Gray where they enjoy boating and gardening. Their son, Jesse, is a junior at the University of Maine.
