The average price in Maine was down 2.1 cents per gallon from last week, to $2.28.

CONCORD, N.H. — Average retail gas prices in northern New England have dropped a little over the past week, while they are on the rise in other parts of the country.

GasBuddy’s daily survey says the average price in Maine was down 2.1 cents per gallon from last week, to $2.28. The price in Vermont dipped 1.3 cents to an average of $2.28 per gallon and in New Hampshire, it went down 1.1 cents to an average of $2.19.

The national average has increased 2.4 cents per gallon in the last week to $2.31. That’s 49.5 cents higher from a year ago and up 5 cents in the past month.
