Police say the 80-year-old bus driver failed to make a complete stop before hitting a car Tuesday morning in Lebanon.

LEBANON — Maine State Police say a school bus collided with a car after failing to stop at an intersection Tuesday morning.

No one on the bus, which was transporting a 9-year-old boy and an adult, was injured, but 20-year-old John Izzarelli of Lebanon, the driver of the 2010 Subaru Impreza, was taken to Goodall Hospital in Sanford with minor injuries.

Roberta Sanborn, 80,  of Lebanon did not come to a complete stop at an intersection with a stop sign on Center Road, according to trooper John Darcy.

There was minor damage to the front end of the bus, and the car sustained more serious damage, according to state police. The bus driver was not cited.

The driver of a 2010 Subaru Impreza was taken to the hospital after being hit by a school bus Tuesday in Lebanon.
