LIVERMORE FALLS — Joan L. Ireland, 84, a resident of Livermore Falls, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, March 11, at her home, with her loving family by her side.

She was born Oct. 23, 1932, in Westfield, the daughter of Russell Laing and Hope (Chase) Laing. She was a graduate of Presque Isle High School. On April 30, 1954, in Westfield, she married Reginald Ireland. Joan had worked in the accounting department for Maine Public Services in Presque Isle. She was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church of Westfield, where she had served as a Sunday school teacher, youth leader, church secretary and treasurer. She later became a member of the First United Pentecostal Church of Livermore Falls. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and was truly devoted to her faith.

She is survived by her husband, Reginald Ireland; her daughter, Betty Jo Roix and her husband, Pastor Larry Roix, all of Livermore Falls; three grandchildren, Nathan Roix and his wife, Crystal, of Livermore Falls, Heidi Sage and her husband, Joe, of Jay, and Jonathan Roix of Livermore Falls; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Vivian Grendell and her husband, Ronald, of Nashville, Tenn., and Juanita Barbee and her husband, Frank, of Savanah, Ga.; and sister-in-law, Darla Christensen and her husband, Dwayne, of Ontario, Canada.

She was predeceased by her brothers, Emerson and David Laing.
