I am writing to call attention to the way Gov. Paul LePage is planning to ignore the will of the voters. LePage has plans to do away with or greatly weaken the referendum questions many people voted for. He has even implied, in a newspaper article a few weeks ago, that voters were not smart enough to know what they were voting for.

He already has eight Democrats whoare willing to go against their constituents and, together with the majority of Republicans, things the majority of voters supported will be dead on arrival.

I voted, happily, for more money for schools; a hike in the minimum pay, long overdue; tip workers finally getting the raises they deserve; and legalizing recreational marijuana — all in jeopardy because Maine’s right-wing authoritarian despot thinks people are not intelligent enough to know what they were voting for.

People need to get involved, talk with their representatives, show up for any public hearings that might be held.

Voters shouldn’t let the governor insult their intelligence or ignore their will.
