PARIS — The Paris Public Library will host an open house of the former Deering Memorial Methodist Church from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 25.
The open house will afford everyone in the Oxford Hills area an opportunity to explore the unique building and envision how it could be used to benefit the community.
At present, the library’s trustees are assessing the structure’s needs and exploring options for funding operational costs and capital improvements. They are also considering how this gift to the people of Paris can best serve the needs of the area and hope the open house will generate discussion and ideas.
Light refreshments will be served, and entertainment during the event will be the Oxford Hills Ukulele Group, the Gordon Family, Matt Draper and the Youth Musicians.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
